If you would like information about the all-church study & sermon series, Unbinding Your Heart by Martha Grace Reese, from February 20 - March 27, 2011, see Pastor Gerald, or use the "Contact" form on this web site. During this study of prayer and faith sharing, participants discovered the role of prayer in developing a closer relationship with God; learned how to share their faith while increasing their comfort to share; and practiced prayer & faith sharing as a means of spiritual growth & development.

Raja is part of the new Disciples Home Missions Kids2Kids web site. Elementary age children can explore the web site to find a wide range of ministry opportunities as well as games to play, puzzles to solve and pictures to color. The link is below her picture.
See the Disciples Women link for pictures & information! All women are invited to attend the Disciples Women's Ministries meetings on the 4th Monday of the month @ 7:00 p.m. Other special events (such as the Christmas Luncheon) and regional events are held throughout the year.
The DWM sponsors the Secret Sisters Ministry program that runs from January to December each year. Through this special program, women remember their "sister" in prayer and bring a card, note, or small inexpensive gift on the first Sunday of each month. In December, the secret sisters are revealed at a luncheon. The DWM hosts an annual Golden Agers dinner for those age 70 and above. The festive evening includes hors d'oeuvres, a delicious meal, entertainment, and fellowship time. A different theme is planned for each year, and guests are encouraged to dress to fit the theme.
See the Disciples Men link for information & pictures! All men are invited to attend the quarterly Tri-County Men's Fellowship meeting & dinner usually held on the 3rd Thursday of the quarter. The church van is available for transportation.
In the ministry of care and relationship building, each elder maintains contact with a different group of families from the congregation. The elders regularly pray for these families and keep in touch with them periodically through a telephone or card ministry. In addition, the elders visit members who are in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. The elders sponsor our prayer chain and accept emergency requests to activate the chain from members of the congregation and the community. In addition, they oversee and update the prayer list. If you have a prayer request that you wish to place on the prayer chain or prayer list, please call the church office @ 724.258.3255.

MISSION AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
We support a food pantry in our church open to anyone in need -- our members, people from the community, or those just passing through. Although members contribute items throughout the year, we observe "White Gift Sunday" each Thanksgiving Sunday in order to replenish the food pantry and collect items to fill Thanksgiving baskets that are distributed to families in our church and in our community. This special Sunday began many years ago when parishoners would bring their boxes and canned goods wrapped in white paper. Today, most people just bring their non-perishable items in white grocery bags in honor of the tradition.
In addition to the above ministries and our CC(DOC) special offerings, we support the following local ministries.
